Abstract
The foster family model is one of the family-oriented social work interventions applied in the field of child welfare all over the world and in our country. This model, which is an important alternative to institutional care, aims for children to grow up in a warm family environment and participate in social life as independent individuals. The foster family system, which is carried out within the framework of the relevant legislation, is a model that is open to interaction with cultural, social and individual dynamics due to the nature of the service. In addition, the nature of human relations, the communication skills of all parties involved in the execution of the service model and the communication patterns they exhibit have a significant impact on the outputs of the model. The positive effects of these outputs on the child at the center of the service and the principle of child benefit are important points to be emphasized. In all stages of the foster family service model, the communication skills to be gained by the foster family, foster child and biological family, who are the parties of the service, will contribute to the continuation and termination of the foster care process in the best possible way. The aim of this study is to try to find solutions to the communication problems observed in the field in the light of the literature. In addition, the awareness of the biological family, foster family, foster child and the professional staff who follow the procedures will contribute to the healthier progress of the process for all parties.
